Synthesis by Juxtaposition. During the research period of the fashion design process, I create several digital collages that infuse different meanings and visual representations of a theme. In this series, I explore the idea of “Home”. Featured are cultural elements of my experience as a Filipino Third Culture Kid that was born and raised in the Middle East. They also include references to Ballroom culture and the hit TV show ‘POSE’, and what home is in these contexts. These collages were then used as an inspiration point for making innovative clothing designs.
